FAQs

What is a coffee concentrate?

The way we brew coffee makes it super concentrated (12x more concentrated, to be precise). That means you only need to mix a small pour of our concentrate with water to make the perfect cup of coffee. It's fast, easy, and versatile. Enjoy Kloo hot, iced, black, milky, in martinis, desserts, and more. For recipes of various drinks and desserts using Kloo, check out our Recipes page.

What is a Q grader?

A Q Grader is like a master coffee sommelier, passing over 20 advanced tests of knowledge, smell, and taste to become certified to grade coffee bean quality. There are only a few hundred Q Graders in the U.S. Our co-founder (and Q Grader), Mariella, prepares every bean and bottle with meticulous attention.

How do you make a cup of coffee with Craft Coffee Concentrate?

1. Fill your cup with 7oz of hot or iced water (or milk).

2. Then, add a shot of Craft Coffee Concentrate from our jigger (0.75oz).

3. Give it a good stir, add milk and sugar if you like, and enjoy!

P.S. Using a bigger cup or like it stronger? Flip the jigger over for a double.

Why is Kloo delivered refrigerated?

Kloo's Craft Coffee Concentrate is shipped with ice packs and intended to be refrigerated upon receipt to ensure best flavor. We recommend this because our product uses NO preservatives or additives of any kind, and, similar to wine, at warmer temperatures coffee's flavor can start to change, so chilling our coffee preserves the best flavor (which is what you deserve).

That said, you don't need to worry too much if you aren't able to put the bottles in the fridge right away, or even if the ice packs are a bit soft when you get it (which is normal). Refrigeration within a day or so of receipt is completely fine.

How should I store Kloo?

Keep Kloo in the fridge for best flavor (cold temperature prevents oxidation). As time goes on, natural sediment may form. Kloo is best consumed within 3 months of brew date (or within 3 weeks of opening).

Don't worry if you don't put Kloo in the fridge right away. It's safe to drink and even won't have a huge impact on flavor for up to 3 days at room temperature.

Can I recycle your packaging?

Yes, you can! All of our packaging is reusable, recyclable, or biodegradable to support a greener future. Fun fact: our insulating box liner is made out of corn!

How do you source your beans?

We only use the highest grade beans. All of our beans are sourced via direct trade, which helps farmers negotiate their prices directly, without intermediaries. Once sourced, we then roast and hand-brew in-house in our facility in Los Angeles.
